Established at the end of 1973 in Wannaneu Place in Rosebud by Dr. Peter Irving, it was then relocated by Dr. Birgitta Callisen in the early 1980’s to the front of the 1533 Point Nepean Road site. Dr. Derek Nutting took over the clinic in 1986 and relocated it to its present position at the rear of 1533 Point Nepean Road in 1993.
Since its inception the clinic has always strived to provide a high standard of care to its patients, in 2013 Rosebud Dental Group became one of the first dental practices in Australia to achieve accreditation. By achieving accreditation a dental practice demonstrates a commitment to the provision of excellent dental care.

Our Procedures
We have 5 surgeries and 8 dentists, opening 6 days a week.
Oral Hygiene
To keep your teeth and gums healthy, plaque needs to be removed at least twice a day. Plaque which is not removed hardens and becomes calculus, this cannot be removed with normal brushing. Regular dental examinations and cleaning prevents this calculus building up and causing gum disease.
Root Canals
Root canal or endodontic treatment is a process whereby inflamed or dead nerve tissue is removed from the inside of a tooth enabling the tooth that was causing pain and/or infection to be retained. The space where the nerve has been removed from is then filled with a special filling material.
Cosmetic Dentistry
Veneers are coverings on the front of teeth to improve their colour and/or shape. They may be applied directly to the teeth using composite (white) filling material or manufactured from porcelain in a dental laboratory. They sometimes also require gum surgery to achieve the best result.
Dental Implants
Implants are used to support crowns, bridges or dentures that replace missing teeth. They are titanium fixtures that are placed within the jaw bone that bone then attaches to.
Orthodontics
Orthodontics is a process of preventing, diagnosing and treating dental and facial irregularities. This can include teeth misalignments, jaw growth problems and missing teeth just to name a few.

Teeth Whitening
The process of teeth bleaching involves the use of oxidising agents such as carbamide peroxide to chemically lighten the colour of your teeth. This may be applied inside the tooth in the case of an individually root filled tooth that has gone dark in colour or via trays as an external bleach to change the colour of multiple teeth.

A fantastic experience overall at Rosebud Dental Surgery. I was fortunate enough to have seen one of the principal dentists and business owners Will, with extensive lengths taken to ensure proficient treatment was completed. As someone who doesn’t particularly enjoy a dental visit, I felt comfortable, welcomed and relaxed within the surgery from both Will and his nurse Nicole. Reception staff were a pleasure to deal with and I can confidently say I will be returning to Rosebud Dental Surgery in the future, as well as recommending the practice to my friends and family.

To help facilitate your payment needs we have HiCaps facilities enabling on the spot health insurance claims. We also accept cash, cheque, eftpos and credit card including American Express. Our practitioners are Medibank Private, Bupa, CBHS, HCF and NIB preferred providers enabling patients with these health funds to enjoy higher insurance rebates. We also treat patients covered by the Department of Veteran Affairs and offer a 5% discount for health care card holders (excludes crown, bridge and implant treatments). To help maintain our reasonable fee structure we do require payment on the day of treatment.
Due to changes between HiCaps and each health insurance fund we cannot backdate claims. If you do not have your health insurance card with you at the time of your appointment or if your claim is declined we will give you an itemised receipt with a claim form to help you claim your rebate.
